I had a busy day yesterday, with too many customers and too little help from the other girl in the kitchen. But after closing down the café Isabel and I cut ourselves a huge slice of almond cookie dough each, stole some tea from the expensive shelf in the bar and sat down to bitch about our bosses and wind down from a long day ( Read more... )

I'm starting to get used to living in Chamonix and working at the café now, and if it weren't for my bosses and the fact that it's so hard to get enough time off to travel I'd probably be having the time of my life. They really are horrible though, we found out that most of the girls working the winter season still haven't gotten their deposits ( Read more... )

There´s mutiny afoot at Grand Central Café.

Our bosses are really sweet girls, but the working conditions are shitty as hell and they work us like slavers. Apparently the 'bitter sisters' have a real reputation around town and two of the other girls are close to fed up already. So I guess we'll see how many are left by the end of the month...

Work was a lot easier today. Made some smoothies and bagels, served a couple of guests, did the dishes, didn't have to close the whole friggin place by myself...
